Jo's Legacy - The History Behind the Art
Each hand-made item in this collection is dedicated to a beautiful woman - my grandmother, the inspiration and talent behind my crochet art.
When I was thirteen-years-old my grandfather (PopPop) Morrow passed away, and my grandmother (Jo) came shortly thereafter to our home for a one-month visit.
My own mother had already taught me basic crochet stitches, but I did not have the ability at that time to turn my basic knowledge into anything worth while.
During her stay, MomMom (Jo) taught me to read crochet patterns. As I sat at her feet rolling balls of yarn she told me very difinitely that she would teach me all she knew in one condition - I had to promise to use the art and not to let it die with her.
I was a very interested student and have kept my promise to her through hours of crochet projects, most of which I have donated to charities, and/or given as gifts to family and friends who were either having babies or getting married.
My crochet technique has developed into a wonderful talent over the past twenty-two years of practice.
Recently I've built up enough nerve to try to actually make something of my talent.So, here it is, my first crochet catalog dedicated to my grandmother (Jo). Thus the name "Jo's Legacy".
